Introduction

Pumice, also known as pumice or pumice, has a small bulk density (0.3-0.4). It is a porous, lightweight vitreous acidic volcanic extrusive rock, and its composition is equivalent to rhyolite.  The pumice here is a glassy lava with dense pores formed by the condensation of molten magma during volcanic eruptions. Its pore volume accounts for more than 50% of the rock volume.

Features and performance

The surface of pumice is rough, the particle bulk density is 450kg/cubic meter, and the loose bulk density is about 250kg/cubic meter. The porosity of natural pumice is 7l.8-81%, and the water absorption rate is 50-60%. It is named because it has many pores, is light in weight, has a bulk density of less than 1 g/cubic centimeter, and can float on the water.  It is characterized by light weight, high strength, acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, no pollution, no radioactivity, etc. It is an ideal natural, green and environmentally friendly product.

Usage

The thermal insulation effect of natural pumice concrete slows down the heat exchange rate between the base soil and the outside world, so that the temperature of the base soil changes slowly during the entire freezing period, and the base soil freezes delayed or does not freeze.  The natural pumice concrete lining has a good effect on the normal water delivery operation of the channel, and at the same time saves maintenance and repair costs.

Pumice concrete has many advantages such as light weight, high specific strength, heat insulation, fire resistance, frost damage resistance, earthquake resistance, chemical resistance, etc.  At the same time, pumice concrete has light weight, low elastic modulus, superior seismic performance, slow vibration wave transmission, long natural vibration period, fast impact energy absorption, and impact absorption effect. Its seismic performance is better than ordinary concrete.  Moreover, pumice concrete has low thermal conductivity and good fire resistance, which can prevent steel rods from being damaged at high temperatures. In addition, the manufacturing process of pumice concrete is simple, with low investment and low cost, making it highly economical.
